This is a RARE, HARD to Find Aviation Collectible Ornament. The Front of the Ornament has a very Beautiful Fully Detailed Painting of a DOUGLAS DC-3 Capitol Airlines aircraft. Flying in a gorgeous cobalt blue sky, with the suggestion of silver/white clouds, this is truly a dramatic painting. The Proud, Bold Capital Airlines livery colors and markings are clearly visible. Above this painted Picture, by World Renowned Aviation Artist Warren Green of Reading, PA are the words SEASONS GREETINGS. Below the picture, the year 1989 is printed. A Gold colored stripe band frames this scene.

The back of this collectible ornament has a descriptive and informative quote, which reads (within a gold colored border frame) DOUGLAS DC-3 Below that (and in eight lines is the following 'poem' statement by L.D. Carr )-

"Way back when, in the 30's you see,A man called Douglas, built a DC-3,The Douglas Racer, the Gooney Bird,Puff the Dragon - many names you've heard.But there have been times and places and altitudesWhen the crew wasn't speaking any platitudesof this airplane's virtues or the things it could do.Cause sometimes twas doubtful of getting thru."
