Capstar 57 mg tablets for dogs only (25 - 125 lbs). Package of 6.When should I use Capstar?Capstar is an ideal product to use when you need to quickly remove biting fleas from your pet. Capstar can be used on cats or dogs at least 4 weeks of age or older and 2 pounds of body weight or greater. It's even safe to use on pregnant or nursing dogs and cats. Use Capstar as soon as you notice fleas or flea dirt on your dog or cat. To be safe, many people give their pet a dose of Capstar after the pet has been exposed to other animals that may have fleas such as after grooming, boarding, or a trip to the dog park. When does Capstar start working?A dose of Capstar provides immediate relief from adult fleas already on your dog or cat. Capstar begins working within 30 minutes and more than 90% of adult fleas will be killed within 4 hours on dogs, and within 6 hours on cats. How long does Capstar last? While Capstar begins working quickly, the effects do not last beyond the initial 24 hours. You can repeat the dosage of Capstar as needed when you see fleas on your pet, as often as once per day.Does Capstar kill flea eggs?Even though you may notice fleas or flea dirt on your dog or cat, you can't see the flea eggs, larvae and pupae that are also present. Capstar treats adult fleas on your pet but does not treat flea eggs, larvae or pupae on your pet or in the environment. To eradicate a flea problem, it's also important to target all stages of the flea life cycle on your pet and in the environment. Indoor flea control products such as a room spray, fogger or carpet powder will work to eradicate fleas in the environment so they don't reinfest your pet. What else should I know about Capstar?Capstar affects the central nervous system of the fleas and as a result, the fleas go through an excitatory state before dying. This increased flea activity can cause your dog or cat to feel itchy and scratch more than usual. This is a temporary reaction to the movement of the fleas and not a reaction to the medication.NOTE! If one pet has fleas, you'll need to treat all the pets in the household, even if you don't notice fleas on the other pets.Storage ConditionsStore at controlled room temperature, between 59° and 77°F (15°-25°C).
